Probably the biggest burden on my heart in this time is the Famine of Fathers:
This is one of those topics/principles that needs a lot of unpacking. For now I just want to share a brief high level overview.
Discerning right relationships is so vital. The development of honor, respect and reverence is not just a bottom up character trait. It has to be woven into the character fabric of every leader.
Many leaders today are not assuming the role of fathers but that of guardians and stewards, (Gal 4:1) but demanding the respect due to a father…
So we see too many of the relationships in the church today are that of Governors/Stewards and not fathers. Just managing the “house”…
We should have Fathers raising sons, leaving an inheritance and multiplying each generation. Sadly this is not happening on a large scale.
Instead, I see fatherless leaders acting as the older son in the Prodigal parable, just resigning to stewardship, governing… resulting in unclaimed or lost inheritance.
During my prayer time with the Lord, as I traverse the highways of Colorado, I was shown the vast amounts of unclaimed and laid down inheritance. It was never passed on…I could feel the heartbreak of The FATHER over this neglect.
So many resources, mantles, anointings are just going to grave when they were meant to be built upon and multiplied.
Q: How many of you have ever received a Father’s Blessing? Not just a prayer of blessing, proclaiming a good future, but an impartation of what they’ve been given and possess. Designed to be multiplied in you? An actual transference…
Fathers, you have a call on your life. Part of that call is to die and I don’t just mean physically. As brutal as that sounds, it is part of the succession plan. (John 12:24) In dying you are to prepare the way for your sons. To establish what is needed to continue on.
King David had it in his heart to build the temple for the Lord. That was his deep desire, but it was not for him to accomplish. It was his son’s.
Fathers, I know that your heart burns for certain things and the desire to accomplish them is extremaly strong. Will you prepare another for the thing that you desired to do? It was Solomon that was to fulfill his fathers vision. David, having heard this from the Lord, set to prepare his son with everything he needed. 1 Chronicles 29:2 says “..I have prepared with all my might” He gave everything he had to prepare his son to continue the work. Including all the monetary resources, partnerships, leaders and destiny helpers. Then blessed his son to fulfill this call and asked God to place upon him what was needed to fulfill this assignment.
This is an example for fathers…
I know many of you have felt that same pull deep within your soul for a relationship with a true father. We know that we need guidance and support. We desire to lift up and to serve and honor.
Fathers, walk in your calling while preparing your sons to inherit what the Lord has given you. Be ready to pass it on in abundance and with a willing heart.
Sons, part of your role is to help fulfill the calling on your father’s life. Serve and submit. Lay your desires at his feet and live in honor. The call fulfilled on your father’s life is to become your inheritance.
