Don’t Beat Yourself Up! Don’t lose hope!
When Abram was told Genesis 12:1 NKJV
“Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.” He received a promise from the Lord…
Genesis 12:2-3 NKJV
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. [3] I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So he left, he packed up everything he had. Eventually, he left his home, family, friends and the way of life that he knew. God was leading him to his calling.
Yes, that can be scary, to totally shift everything and be obedient to God. But he believed what God had spoken to him.
So he left!
The next part is what tries to derail us in listening to God leading us.
When he got down to Egypt there was a famine, a severe famine!
Wait what….. You had me leave my family and house and support system just to be taken into a place of lack and struggle?
That doesn’t seem to align with what God had told him?!
You said you were going to bless me and make a great nation, not bring me to famine! Plus my wife is very beautiful and now I’m afraid I’m going to get killed because the Egyptians are going to desire Sarai……
Can you imagine what was going through his mind? Or what his family might have been saying?
Questioning what he heard?
Questioning the decision to leave their familiar place…
God will lead us all into our promised lands. But we have to understand that there are giants in every man’s promised land.
That doesn’t stop us from possessing what God is giving us.
We can’t be deceived by what looks contrary to what God is saying. He has a plan in place to overcome and be prosperous where He is sending us.
Don’t react out of fear. Abram started lying about his wife out of fear. God was still with him! It was still God’s plan to bless him and make a great nation, and bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him!
It is tough to remain calm and in peace when your circumstances look totally against what God is telling you.
Your mind starts to scream at you that everything is going to go wrong. Those are lies! God didn’t tell you he was going to ruin you!
Remain in His presence, seek scriptures that you can stand on to help you remain confident and faithful about what God has told you.
Seek out brothers who can stand with you and face the fire. 🔥
Surround yourself with those who will remind you who you are! 🛡️
Battle forged friendships… ⚔️
God is faithful to accomplish what He has started and promised. 🎯
His Word can not return to Him void, it HAS TO ACCOMPLISH what it was sent to do!
I say all of this to myself just as much as anyone else!
God gave me a vision and I like to think that it’s going to happen instantly. But we have to be faithful and patient. God is still working even when I can’t see it.
Whoever else needed this reminder, stay calm, stay faithful.
Watch the words that you speak.
Speak what God says about your situation!‼️
Your promised land is coming!🕊️
