Packing List:

  • Tent w/rainfly. The most important part, especially considering Colorado’s cool nights….
  • Sleeping Bag. A 30°F rated or warmer is necessary for Colorado summers….
    • We will be monitoring the weather as our event dates approach. Late season snow is not unheard of. We will keep you all up to date.
  • Sleeping Pad. The ones that self inflate are great….This is half of your warmth at night!
  • Light. Having a few lights around is always nice….(headlamp/flashlight)
  • Clothes. Pack smart, but light….(think layers, puffy jackets are great to layer with a rain shell) Fleece is great
    • Hiking shoes or boots
    • Hiking socks will benefit your feet
    • Moisture wicking materials are best for mountain activities. Cotton is not the best choice as it does not dry quickly and once wet does not provide warmth.
  • Hammock – this is a luxury item but very handy to have!

FOOD: Freeze Dried Meals are recommended, trail mix, oat meal and granola bars are great too!

  • Monday – Dinner
  • Tuesday – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Wednesday – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Thursday – Breakfast
  • Snacks, bottled water and Trail food will be available as needed.

*Please let us know if there are any food allergies.

Each day will include teaching/ministry sessions, fellowship, activities and free time.

A schedule of events will be released.

Please see the attached waiver and sign and return it back to me as soon as possible.(Please note any medical conditions that are relevant to these circumstances)

  • As we are camping in the wilderness there is always a threat of wildlife. Bears frequent the area and certain precautions must be made. Let us know if you have never camped before.
  • Trained Wilderness First Aid professionals will be onsite if needed.
WHAT TO EXPECT?

– 4 Days 3 Nights in the Mountains of Colorado (In the Heart of God’s Creation)

– Replenish a Tired Soul…(Day hikes and Mountain Exploration)

– Restore a Relationship with Christ…(Fellowship and Teaching)

– Renew a commitment to be Who you are called to be…(Intentional Quite Time)

– Reignite a Fire that has gone cold…

Altitude sickness is a very real thing and your hydration levels need to be monitored at all times.

You will be required to backpack 3-4 miles to get to basecamp, After that we will hike and explore the area, possibly summiting a near by mountain.

The event is held at the approx altitude of 10,500 feet up to 13,000 feet.

Wild animals are present and often sighted.

On our last trip we came across a black bear foraging. All safety precautions will be made but we are in the wilderness.

Campfire conversations will take place frequently. Sharing and learning from one another will give each of us invaluable nuggets of wisdom and knowledge.

It is a very positive environment. We are here to encourage one another and assist where needed.

DAY 03

HIKING & FISHING

On the second full day in the backcountry we try to get out and explore more. You will be acclimated better to the altitude and able to push your body on some picturesque Colorado mountain backcountry trails. Stream and potentially high mountain lake fishing will also be available for those with licenses.

AFTERNOON/EVENING

FIRESIDE FELLOWSHIP

After a day of taking in the wonder that is the Colorado backcountry, we will come together for a night around the campfire. There is something powerful that happens when men come together seeking to hear the voice of God in His creation. These are often the most memorable moments from the experience.

At Heart

If you are stagnated, if you’re stale, if you’re trying to figure out what you’re going to do with the rest of your life, you must get back to being warriors.”

BOOST PHYSCIAL HEALTH

Medical and scientific research continues to prove that bionically getting into the wilderness offers a renewal of mind and strength. You’ll add to the confidence in your identity as you push the limits of what you believe you are capable of.

QUIET YOUR MIND

We are mentally suffocating in our routine lives. Our mind needs to be challenged, engaged, and given rest. Without distractions or routines. A moment to marvel over God’s creation. As you quiet the mind, your soul will speak.

CAMPFIRE CALM

Gathering around a campfire has been a tradition throughout centuries. There is a healing and calming effect when we gather. Relationships, bonds, and conversations are often forged around the crackling of burning logs

RESET TO NATURE'S RHYTHMS

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. - Henry David Thoreau
